Israeli navy commandos clashed with Hamas gunmen during a raid on the coast of the Gaza Strip on Sunday, while the army moved more tanks and troops along the border with the Palestinian territory.

The Israeli platoon was attacking a site in northern Gaza used to launch long-range rockets when it came under fire, a military statement said. The commandos returned fire and managed to hit the launch site, the statement said, adding that four soldiers were lightly wounded in the clash.
Hamas said its fighters had fired at the Israeli force offshore, preventing them from landing.
This is the first such gunfight of a six-day Israeli offensive on the territory aimed at stopping Palestinian rocket fire.
Israel says preparations are under way for a possible ground incursion, with tanks and artillery massed along the border and some 33,000 reservists mobilised out of 40,000 approved by the cabinet.
The Israeli army said it was sending messages to residents of northern Gaza "urging them to leave their homes for their own safety."
Yet most attacks so far have so far been from the air, hitting some 1,200 targets in the territory.
FRANCE 24's Jerusalem correspondent Irris Makler says the latest developments do not necessarily indicate an imminent ground assault. "It is not clear to me from listening to Israeli military analysts and the prime minister that this is what is in the offing," she said Sunday morning.
She noted that despite troop movements towards the Gaza border, the numbers did not appear consistent with plans for a full-on invasion.
"There are now Arab mediators coming forth – Qatar is involved, Egypt is going to come back into it. I think that this may in fact be the storm before the ceasefire rather than before the ground offensive," Makler added.
Speaking from Gaza City Sunday morning, FRANCE 24's reporter Gallagher Fenwick said Israel's military campaign had taken a "new dimension" in the northern part of the Palestinian enclave overnight.
"It sounded very much like carpet bombing of entire neighbourhoods, creating scenes of panic with tens of thousands of people trying to flee as fast as possible to reach the United Nations court in downtown Gaza, which has been opened to them," Fenwick said.
Meanshile, the Islamist group Hamas, which dominates Gaza, has fired hundreds of rockets into Israel, striking deeper in the country than ever before.
"This morning we saw a range of rocket fly from the south up towards the centre and sirens were heard at the international airport," FRANCE 24's Makler reported.
Saturday bloodiest day this week
The cross-border violence shows no signs of abating despite mounting international pressure on both sides to end the violence.
The world has implored Israel and Hamas to end hostilities as the toll from Israeli air strikes rose and Gaza militants fired more rocket salvos, but both sides have rejected a truce.
Saturday was the bloodiest day since the conflict erupted on Tuesday, claiming 56 Palestinian lives including a two-year-old child and a 73-year-old woman.
FRANCE 24's Fenwick said the death toll compiled by the Palestinian health ministry so far this week was risen 165, including 18 members of an extended family killed in an air raid targeting Hamas's chief of police, who is himself in critical condition.
Sirens went off throughout the night in Israel, sending residents running for safe rooms and bomb shelters.
On Saturday, the UN Security Council unanimously urged Israel and Hamas to respect "international humanitarian laws" and stop the loss of life.
The foreign ministers of Britain, France, Germany and the United States are due to discuss how to achieve a truce when they meet in Vienna on Sunday.
The Italian foreign minister is due to visit the region next week and a spokesman for the Egyptian government said it was in touch with both sides in the conflict, but this falls short of Egyptian engagement to mediate between Israel and the Palestinians in previous flare-ups.
Collateral damage
Israel says Hamas puts innocent Gazans in harm's way by placing weaponry and gunmen in residential areas. A senior Israeli military officer said aircraft had aborted "hundreds" of strikes to avoid collateral damage and that targets bombed were meant to impact Hamas fire capacity.
No Israeli has been killed by the cascade of Hamas rockets, many of which were shot down above Israeli towns by Iron Dome, a partly US-funded interceptor system. Israel rushed an eighth Iron Dome into service on Saturday to counter stronger-than-expected rocket fire from Gaza.
Fire was also exchanged across Israel's northern border.
Rockets fired late on Saturday from Lebanon hit Israel, and the military said it responded with artillery fire at the source of the launch.
Southern Lebanon is a stronghold of Hezbollah, a Shiite Muslim group that battled Israel seven years ago and is engaged in Syria's civil war in support of President Bashar al-Assad; but there are also Palestinian groups in the same area.
Hamas claimed responsibility for the rocket fire from Lebanon, though it was unclear what kind of influence or presence the Islamist group had there.

The Truth About Blogging for Dollars (& Why You Should Blog for Business Instead)

an you actually make money blogging?
No!
This is my answer and it may shock you.
Ok, so you are not convinced. “But what about so many people who are making money online - blogging?” You persist.
No, they are actually not making any money from blogging; they are making money because they have a business. They are selling products or services and they use their blogs to support their business.
(If you blog for pleasure, this is the time to tune out.)
Sonia Simone (of Copyblogger) said once when she was asked how to make money blogging,“Blogs don’t make money – businesses do.”
Most people approach blogging without having any knowledge of how it actually works. They start blogging and think of ways to monetize it. They think of their blog as the main thing.
Try to shift your perspective. Try this idea on for size: if you want to make money online, you need to have a business idea first. Then use your blog as an attraction strategy, a way to find new customers and clients. Make blogging a part of your overall marketing strategy.
You don’t need tons of traffic; you don’t need traffic that comes and never returns, you certainly don’t need people looking for free information who would never buy from you. You need to slowly move people on awareness ladder. They come to know you, they dig your free content and they get on your list. Slowly, they might be ready to buy from you.
If you have the right foundation (viable product or service idea), you can start blogging before you actually offer anything. However, you can’t expect to make money ‘just blogging’.
Here are 7 great reasons to blog for your business instead.

#1 Show your expertise

Say you are a school teacher and you want to create a site catering to mums having kids with disabilities. You want to sell coaching to these mums on how to help their child integrate in mainstream school settings.
You want to establish your credentials first if you want anyone to listen to you. You have worked as an integration specialist and you want to build authority. Blogging is the way to go.
When you blog in this niche topic, you are showing of your skills and understanding of  issues faced by these families. You create highly engaging content that is useful and gives valuable information that these mums can put to use immediately.
You create coaching packages. You write an ebook. You develop daily planners for kids with special needs and you let your audience know that all that is there if they need to buy it.
(If you are a writer, copywriter or a content marketer, blogging has a special advantage for you. It also acts as your online portfolio. Sweet!)

#2 Give people a reason to get on your list

When you have a static website, somebody might visit it once and then forget all about you. You want to avoid it at all costs.
You want o reach out to the right kind of people: People who are interested in what you have to say.You want to drive highly targeted audience to your site.
Anyone who is interested enough to spend a few minutes looking through you website, should have a reason to come back. Publishing fresh content regularly gives them this reason.
Go a step further. Offer a freebie to get them on your list. They might bookmark your site or have the best intention to return, but they will forget. Most people do. Remind them by sending them updates.

#3 Create likability and trust

Blogging encourages interaction with readers and prospective buyers. You respond to their comments, reply to their emails. You can’t help but have a one-on-one with your audience. You can’t help but show your human face.
This is the perfect opportunity to show although you mean business, but you are also human. You genuinely care about them and are here to help. You have solutions to their needs.
Being honest in your communications will create a lot of goodwill and trust. When people like you, they are already on your side. They trust you enough to do business with you.

#4 Attract links

When you create high quality content, and slowly start attracting interested readers, you will also attract links from other related websites, parenting, schooling or disability, in this case.
You can take it up a notch and devise a guest posting strategy where you approach these blogs in your industry asking for a post (and a link in your bio). Be sure to have some sort of relationship with the blogger first to dramatically increase your chances of getting a yes. Subscribe to their blogs, comment and share their posts before you get in touch.

#5 Rank well in search engines

Creating content for a highly targeted audience means you start to get noticed by the search engines. If a parent searches for ‘should I put my child with ADHD in a mainstream school’ your blog post might come up. Somebody looking for tips on how to cope with rejection of their application for an integration aide may lead them to you.
You don’t have to stuff your content with keywords. With specialized and highly focused content creation on your blog, via guest posting and through other social media channels, you will automatically start to show up when people search for this information.

#6 Create brand awareness

You are creating content, you are engaging with your readers and you are active on other social media channels. You are spelling out your unique selling proposition. All the time.
All of this will go a long way towards strengthening your brand.
Your URL, your logo and colours, your blogging voice and online persona: people will encounter this repeatedly until they start recognizing you.
They know what to expect from your brand, because you have been doing it over and over again. They understand what makes your different and how you stand out from the rest of the crowd. They know they’d rather come to you then go anywhere else.

#7 Bring clients to your doorstep

And this is by far my most favourite reason for blogging.
Having gone through the whole process where people now see you as an expert and an authority, they like and trust you and they come to you already presold. Pre-qualified prospects.
You will have potential clients getting in touch with you without you having to lift a finger. Instead of you going after them, they come to you.
And this is a dream come true for any business owner. For any blogger.
And this is how you make money from blogging.

NEO Success Awards 2014: Abode Modern Lifestyle Developers

Abode Modern Lifestyle Developers has built its business on eco-friendly living spaces.

Andrew Brickman spent $200 on a pair of hiking boots to climb Ol Doinyo Lengai, an active volcano that rises 7,200 feet above the Rift Valley in northern Tanzania. The two young Maasai tribesmen he hired as guides, who fashioned pieces of bicycle tires to their feet with lengths of twine, didn’t look to be as prepared.

Life Lessons
Andrew Brickman, managing member, Abode Modern Lifestyle Developers

The more you give, the more you get. So I try to promote a culture where we try to make all of our vendors and our partners more successful.

I strive for constructive criticism. I don’t want someone, whether they’re an employee of the company or whether they’re a customer, just to tell us how great everything is. I want them to tell us, “Well, most of what you’re doing is fantastic. But if you did this, this and this, it could be even better.”

I’ve always been curious about how the aesthetics of a product also works with the functionality. So I’m always looking for great design, whether it be industrial design or whether it be architectural design.

When you [see] those McMansions out in exurbia, you’ll see a little bit of fake stone on the front and then vinyl on three sides. To me, architecture is meant to be experienced in three dimensions – it is 3-D. They dumb it down by making it 2-D.
“When I was climbing, the sole of my boot came unglued because of all the sulfur in the rock,” Brickman explains. “At the same time, the rudimentary bicycle tire that was their shoes was functioning much better than the best and most expensive Western technology.”

It was during that trip more than a decade ago — and losing his sole on a volcano — that Brickman observed how adept the people in that African community were at recycling and how wasteful America was.

Brickman decided to start a real estate development company that built residential communities with as little waste and long-term environmental impact as possible.

Nine years after founding Abode Modern Lifestyle Developers, Brickman has seen revenue grow 142 percent over the last three years, from $1.75 million in 2011 to $4.25 million in 2013.

As the firm’s managing member, he credits Abode’s success to a growing demand among homebuyers for homes that are not only eco-friendly in construction and energy consumption but efficient in the use of square footage and the time required to maintain them.

The company’s four Cleveland-area communities include the Brownstones of Derbyshire, a 20-condominium development with units in and on the grounds of a former Cleveland Heights church, and 27 Coltman, 27 townhouses built on a former brownfield near University Circle and Little Italy.

“The spaces aren’t necessarily [that] big,” says Brickman. “But they’re bright, and they’re flexible, and they’re energy efficient. People feel good about that. It’s an easier
lifestyle.”

In addition to the eco-friendly features such as recycled exterior building materials, sustainable bamboo flooring and insulating rooftop gardens, homeowners are drawn to the ability to customize the layout of their homes to fit their needs — many are without any load-bearing interior walls, which allows for an open floor plan.

Technology also plays a major role in what Abode offers in its homes. Eleven River, a community of 11 luxury riverfront residences in Rocky River, is the first Abode property with geothermal heating and cooling. Control4 SmartHome technology, a home automation system, is also standard there and at Clifton Pointe, a Lakewood development of 22 luxury residences overlooking the Rocky River and Lake Erie.

“It allows a buyer to control their heating and air conditioning, their audio-visual, their lighting, their appliances, their security — all from their smartphone,” he explains.

The customization doesn’t end there. Clifton Pointe’s sold-out Phase II offered health-centric options such as air- and water-purification systems, circadian lighting and posture-supportive flooring. Eleven River buyers can add an elevator, dock or plunge pool. And those amenities are just what the developer offers. Residents have tricked out their digs with everything from spalike master baths to rooftop kitchens.

Brickman says another selling point of Abode communities is having homes in a neighborhood with built-in character — one where people can walk to shops, restaurants and recreation areas and actually interact with their neighbors in the process.

“We’ve gone into infill locations that have a little bit more soul, that are close to the amenities that people want today,” he says.

Since more than tripling its payroll in the last three years from 4 to 15 employees, most of whom work in marketing, design, architecture, construction management and administration, Abode is starting to expand beyond Cleveland. The most exotic is Kiela Villas, a trio of self-sustaining oceanfront rentals in a biosphere reserve near Tulum, Mexico, about two hours south of Cancun.

“They produce all their own power through wind and solar [technology], and capture all the rainwater,” says Brickman.

Closer to home, the company plans to break ground this spring on Riversouth Modern Ecohomes, a development of 36 townhouses situated along Cleveland Metroparks’ Rocky River Reservation, and will begin construction on a mixed-use Ohio City project late this year or in early 2015. Brickman is also looking at opportunities to build in the city of Beachwood, a suburb he believes is ripe for Abode-style development.

“We like to find an infill site that is close to parks and amenities and restaurants,” he says. “We found that type of location, and we think it’s consistent with Abode’s mission.”

Easy monetizing of your blog with AdSense

Why should I monetize my website?

The more success you have with your blog / website, the more time and money you’re going to invest to update it and host it properly.
At some point you may think: wouldn’t it just be nice to have my site pay for itself?
Well, that is actually easier to achieve than it sounds! A decent hosting plan should cost you no more than $6.95/month. However, that’s quite a low figure here and most people make many many times more than that in ad revenue…
By properly monetizing your blog site it is actually possible to have it pay, not only for the hosting, but also for the time you spend working on it.

Why AdSense?

First, because AdSense is a very simple and proven solution that already pays for hundreds of thousands of blogs/websites accross the world!
Also, AdSense is provided to you by Google which not only makes it reliable but also trustworthy. Once you have earned money from Google, you can actually trust them to pay you!
Finally, because the ads will be contexual, i-e they will be relevant to the content of your blog/site. This way, your visitors will not be offended for seeing the ads on your site.

How do I get started?

It’s as simple as that:
  1. Sign up with Google AdSense. (It’s totally free!) Then follow the provided instructions to put a little javascript snippet onto your blog skin or any web page you like. You may use our b2evolution AdSense plugin to make this even easier.
  2. When visitors view your site they see contextual text ads that automatically adjust to the contents of each page / blog post so that they are always relevant. No flashing images, just relevant text links! :)
  3. When a visitor clicks on an ad link, Google records the click and you get paid for it. Get ready for a monthly check from Google ;)

Will it ruin my blog design?

You can choose the exact position and colors of the text ad blocks you place on your site.
Below are two examples of blogs that incorporate text ads and successfully pay for themselves. Judge for yourself:
  • Example 1: Ad links at the end of the blog post.
  • Example 2: Ad links at the top of the page. Note: as you can see, AdSense is not limited to English!

Mini FAQ

Google has an extensive FAQ about this program. Here’s our additional mini FAQ about integrating AdSense with your blog.

How do I integrate AdSense into my blog?

How do I integrate AdSense into my blog without the plugin?

You just copy/paste the AdSense code from Google into your blog template.
The short answer is that the template is located in /skins/skin-name/index.main.php

How To Really Make Money with Clickbank

The following is the business model I use to make thousands of dollars every week with Clickbank. This is going to be long and detail post (over 2,300 words). I encourage you to read though the whole thing because this model works and has been proven over and over by myself and other affiliate marketers. While this model shows how to make money with Clickbank, the model can be applied to any other affiliate network or product (even a blog). I just happen to like Clickbank because information is one of the easiest products to promote and sell on the Internet.
Hit And Run Marketing Doesn’t Work
Most new affiliate marketers getting into the business do what I call hit and run affiliate marketing. It’s the model they’re all familiar with because it’s the one they hear about the most. The hit and run marketing steps goes something like this.
  1. Select a Clickbank (or any affiliate) product to promote
  2. Send traffic to the landing page with PPC/PPV
  3. PROFIT!
I’m sure you’ve all heard stories of affiliate marketers spending $10K a day to make $20K? It sounds great doesn’t it? The only problem is there are not many affiliate marketers who can do that. Also, those who are making a profit using the hit and run model are leaving a ton of money on the table.
Spending money on advertising to get one customer that you will never see again is one of the dumbest business move you can make. That’s like Best Buy spending $50K on a front page ad on the Wall Street Journal to have those customers buy one item and then never visit the store again. They’re go under in less than six months if that’s the case!
Another problem with the hit and run model is it’s not very stable. You have to keep spending money on advertising or the sales stop. You risk the chance of Google slapping your landing page because of a low quality score, you may run out of money tweaking the ads/keywords/landing pages, competition can drive up bids to the point where you can’t make a profit, the advertiser may pull the offer, etc.
Real Businesses Are Built On Repeat Customers
clickbank
Too many people think of Internet marketing as a game. It’s not. It’s a real business and real businesses are built on repeat customers. A restaurant can’t survive with first time customers only. The Apple Store, or any retail store, would go under in a few months if their customers visit the store once and never visit again.
If someone buys one Apple product, then he is likely to buy another product from Apple. The same thing holds true for affiliate marketing. If someone buys a Clickbank product from you, he is likely to buy another one. But that will never happen if all you do is hit and run marketing because you’ll never see that person again.
Repeat business is the key. It’s a lot easier and cheaper to market to a repeat customer than it is to acquire a new one. In fact, the average business spend seven times more in marketing cost to get a new customer than it does to keep an existing one. When you’re doing hit and run affiliate marketing, what you are in fact doing is spending that 7X more money to acquire a customer for SOMEONE ELSE! Can you see now why most hit and run affiliate marketers don’t make money?
A Clickbank Affiliate Model That Works
My Clickbank business model is more complex than the hit and run model. It will require more work on your part but unlike the the hit and run model, you will make way more money with it. Here are the steps.
  1. Choose a series of Clickbank products in the same niche to promote
  2. Create a free eBook about the niche to give away
  3. Create a squeeze page offering the free ebook
  4. Send traffic to the squeeze page
  5. Capture the lead coming to the squeeze page
  6. Deploy email auto responders with the Clickbank products
  7. Watch the money rack up in your Clickbank account
The main difference between my model and the hit and run model is I’m building a customer base. Instead of sending leads directly to the Clickbank landing page to buy the product and never see them again, I send them to my squeeze page to capture their emails so I can market products to them for weeks, months and years to come. This is a far more powerful marketing method.
The Money Is In The List
I’ve said many times before that the money is in the list but it bears repeating. The money really is in the list. Look at all the really big affiliate marketers. Guys like Frank Kern, John Reese, Shoemoney, etc. They all have huge mailing lists. And because they have huge lists, they don’t have to spend hundreds of thousands per month on advertising. John Reese refers to his list as his ATM. He just goes to it whenever he needs to make a withdraw.
When Shoe launched Shoemoney System on Clickbank, he built a prelaunch list of over 100,000 names. While Shoe did well with his system, that list he built is worth an extra $1 million a year in additional revenue because he’ll be able to use the list to promote other related products.
If you want to become a big Clickbank affiliate marketer (or blogger), you absolutely need an email list. That is your customer base. Without one, you’ll just be another hit and run affiliate marketer working for peanuts. Stop building other people’s customer base and start building your own.
Step 1 – Choose a Series of Clickbank Products
Clickbank Marketplace
The first step to making money from Clickbank is to decide on the niche you want to target. Ideally, the niche should be a niche that you have a knowledge of and a passion for. If that’s not the case, then you can still make money with it but you wouldn’t have as much fun and to me, having fun is even more important than making the money.
The Clickbank Marketplace list thousands of products for you to promote. You can sort search results based on commission, sales, popularity and a bunch of other criteria. I like to get a copy of the product before deciding on whether to promote it. You can either email the advertiser for a copy or buy it from them and then refund it if you don’t want to promote it. All Clickbank products are covered by a 60 day money back policy.
Step 2 – Create a Free eBook
The best way to make people give you their email address is to offer them something they find valuable for free. This is where the eBook comes in. You can write it yourself or hireMichael Kwan to write it. If you’re really cheap, you can use a PLR eBook. They’re just like PLR articles but in eBook size. Personally, I recommend you write it yourself or hire out the writing. The quality of PLR leaves a lot to be desired.
The free eBook doesn’t have to be very big, 20 to 60 pages should do, but it does need to cover the same niche as the Clickbank products you plan to promote. This is why I said you should have a knowledge of the niche you plan to deal in.
Step 3 – Create a Squeeze Page To Promote The eBook
Affiliate Marketing 101
A squeeze page is a special kind of landing page that is created solely to act as an opt in for information – primarily email addresses – from potential subscribers. When people visit my blog, I want them to subscribe to my email list. However, because there is so much to see and read, the number of sign ups isn’t as high as it could be. By creating a separate squeeze page, the email sign up rate can skyrocket. While I can capture maybe 5% of people visiting my blog, I have seen squeeze pages with conversion rate has high as 60%!
The above screen shot is the squeeze page Jonathan Volk used to capture emails. By offering his Affiliate Marketing 101 guide for free, Jonathan was able to get 50% of the people visiting that page to opt into his email list.
The easiest way to create a squeeze page is with Squeeze Theme by Unique Blog Designs. Squeeze Theme is powered by WordPress and will allow you to create custom squeeze pages in minutes. Jonathan and I both use Squeeze Theme to create all our squeeze pages.
To use Squeeze Theme, all you need to do is choose the theme you want to run, add the text, photo or video, your Aweber email codes and let Squeeze Theme do the rest. Before Squeeze Theme came along, I had a designer do all my squeeze pages. Now, Squeeze Theme does it for me in just a few minutes.
Step 4 – Send Traffic To The Squeeze Page
Once the squeeze page has been created, you need to send traffic to it. The quickest way to do that is to use pay per click or pay per view advertising. However, that’s also the most expensive way. There are tons of lower cost or free methods for traffic generation. A little creatively can go a long way.
Try to think outside the box when it comes to traffic building. Look at what Jonathan did for his eBook. Instead of using PPC to send traffic to his squeeze page, he set up a contest to give away three Apple iPads. Two iPads will go to the top two affiliates who send the most referrals. However, the the 3rd iPad will be awarded to a random affiliate on a draw based on one entry per referral. By referring a friend to download Jonathan’s eBook, you earn an entry. Refer two friends and earn two entries and so on.
The three iPads will cost Jonathan about $1,800. Not cheap but not out of the budget for someone who want to build a real affiliate marketing business. So far, Jonathan’s promotion has worked extremely well and he should have a list of over 10,000 names before the contest is over. If 100,000 names are worth $1 million a year, 10,000 names would be worth $100,000 a year. That’s not a bad return on $1,800!
Step 5 – Capture The Lead
$1 Aweber Offer
Lead capturing is the most important part of affiliate marketing. Your business is built around your list. Anything you can do to increase its size means more money for you. During the Affiliate Marketing 101 contest, Jonathan offered a 27″ iMac to anyone who can take over my 1st place spot in seven days. Nobody was able to beat me but you can bet a lot of people tried and Jonathan’s list benefited as a result.
While a squeeze page maybe the best way to get someone to give you his email address, you still need a system to handle and host the list. My recommended email service isAweber. I’ve been using them for years and they are by far the best in the business. Aweber works seamlessly with Squeeze Theme and its web interface allows you to access it from any computer, anywhere in the world.
Aweber offers a $1 trial account for all new customers. The account is just like a normal Aweber account and includes unlimited email campaigns, newsletter, broadcasts and follow ups. It’s a great way to test drive Aweber to see what it can do for you. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you find that email marketing is not for you, contact Aweber within 30 days and they’ll give you the $1 back.
Step 6 – Deploy Auto Responders
Auto responders are emails that go out at a set date and interval. When someone subscribe to my blog, they are sent a series of auto responder emails. These emails are design to do three things.
  1. Build a relationship with the subscriber
  2. Promote my blog and brand
  3. Recommend products and services that help solve the reader’s problem
Setting up the auto responder is extremely easy and is no different than sending out a normal email. If you’re using Aweber, all you have to do is click “Follow Up” in the Message tab. This will allow you to create a follow up message to be sent to your new subscriber at a later date. Aweber allows you to set up an unlimited number of auto responders.
If you check the screen shot above, you’ll see that my first auto responder email goes out the instant someone signs up to my list. The second follow up email out goes out four days after the first and the rest goes out in one week intervals until there are no more follow ups.
This is also known as a sales funnel. The first few emails helps build your relationship with the subscriber. Later emails in the funnel are used to promote the Clickbank products. This setup works far better than any hit and run system. Research has shown that most prospect won’t buy on the first visit or email. They need to be hit over and over again. This is where the auto responder comes in. The sooner you set it up, the faster you’ll be in the money.
Step 7 – Watch The Money Rack Up In The Clickbank Account
This step is optional but I really enjoy it. :)
You now have the formula to a make massive amounts of money with Clickbank (or any other affiliate network). It takes more work than the hit and run model but the payoffs are much higher. I hope you enjoy this post and I hope it opened your eyes to what it really takes to make money with Clickbank. Your comments are welcome. If you felt I’ve left anything out and you have a question, please post it.

6 Uncomplicated Social SEO Tips for Small Businesses

Let’s start with what is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. And the phrase improve your SEO strategy encompasses the actions taken to ensure your website can be found in a search engine’s results page (SERP) when searching for words or phrases relevant to the content on your website.
What does Social SEO mean?
Social SEO refers to the idea that social media links and interaction play a considerable part in a website’s search rankings. It sounds complicated (and, in reality it is) but basically SEO is all about optimizing content—whether it’s on your website or on a social media platform—in order to appear higher in search rankings.
Here are six uncomplicated Social SEO tips you can easily start implementing today:

1. Optimize your social media profiles

The key to an SEO friendly social media profile is to be descriptive as possible. Always fill out the ‘About’ or ‘Information’ sections of any social media platform. Use words or phrases that describe your business and are also terms individuals would use to search for your business.
For example, to optimize your Facebook Page for local searches, it is very important to include your address, city, state, and zip. Always include links from your social channels back to your business’s website (and links from your website to your social channels).
Insider Tip: The “Category” field is often over looked on Facebook Pages but is important for Facebook mobile searches. Check to make sure your business is listed as the correct category while editing your basic information.

2. Optimize your social media content/updates

To optimize your social content, always include some of the relevant search keywords you determined for your business in your Facebook updates, tweets, pin descriptions, etc. It’s important to remember to share content from your website or blog socially to give it an SEO boost too. Sharing new content on Twitter is especially important because it helps Google index it faster (indexing means Google adds this URL to their database).
Insider Tip: Use your business’s name in your social posts. This helps Google associate the keywords you use to describe your business with your business’s name.

3. Build links by making your content shareable

A key factor in SEO is link building. Simply put, this means having good website to website relationships through links. When you have more quality sites linking to your website (inbound) and you are linking to other quality websites (outbound) the more authoritative Google determines your website to be. More authority equals a higher SERP rank.
Likes, comments, +1s, repins, retweets, etc., all play into the weight given to your links. If you create content people want to share, you can create more inbound links. “Content” doesn’t always have to be as elaborate as a blog post or whitepaper, content can also refer to tweets or Facebook posts as well. By posting engaging social content, you’re improving your SEO value. To review: Quality content equals more shares equals more links equals better SEO value. Simple right?
Insider Tip: A more advanced way to increase shares is to add social share buttons to individual pieces of content on your website or blog.

4. Use Pinterest

An easy way to create shareable content is by using Pinterest. Pinterest is great for link building and improving your keyword strategy. Google indexes pages from websites with heavy traffic faster and higher in a SERP. You can increase your content’s visibility in SERPs by adding keywords within the title of a Pinterest board, the board’s description, and you even have up to 500 characters to describe an individual pin so you’ll want to include keywords there as well.
Additionally, you can customize the pin’s link and point people back to your website or blog—further increasing the opportunity for your content to rank higher in a SERP. From an SEO perspective, Pinterest allows you to do a few things that other networks don’t, so take advantage of it.
Insider Tip: Google prefers high-resolution images, so use high-quality images on Pinterest whenever possible.

5. Sign up for Google+ and spend 10-minutes a day on it

No one loves Google+ more than Google. Sign up for a Google+ Business Page and complete as many fields as you can in the “About” section using keywords that describe your business. Google also allows you to add several customized links within your profile, you can use this as an opportunity to link back to your website, blog, and additional social channels. By spending 10-minutes a day sharing your content to your Google+ page, you’ll be more likely to appear within Google’s SERP. There are more reasons you should care about Google+ if you’re a Solution Provider.

6. Create a Google+ Local listing

According to Google, 97% of consumers search for local businesses online. In order to perform well in local search results it’s critical that you optimize your Google+ Local listing (formally known as Google Places). A Local Google+ page is different from a Google+ Business Page because it allows customers to easily connect with that business’s physical location. Update the details about your business—address, phone number, hours, etc.—and you’re good to go!
Insider Tip: Be sure to keep your information up-to-date on Google+ Local and Facebook—it helps!

Here are some common mistakes to avoid:

  • Not making your business’s social media sites public.
  • Creating a Facebook Profile instead of a Facebook Page (learn how to fix this here).
  • Not customizing your Facebook URL. (Here’s how)
  • Not using your business’s name as your Facebook Page name or Twitter name.
  • Uploading images to your social channels with file names such as: Photo1 or IMG1287—images with meaningful file names can help you rank better.
  • Duplicating another website’s content. Your time and resources are limited as a small business owner but Google doesn’t like this.
  • If something appears to be a fast and easy way to improve your SEO it’s probably a black hat tactic (that means it’s bad), Google frowns on these unethical techniques and penalizes those who implement them.

Keep this in mind regarding Social SEO

Improving your SEO takes time and SERP changes don’t happen overnight. Always be as descriptive as you can and keep your info up to date. Ultimately, as a small business owner you shouldn’t obsess over SEO. Instead, focus on providing a WOW! experience for your customers and your business will benefit through natural word-of-mouth.
